Недавно созданное сокращение от слова metamorphosis (метаморфоза, превращенние). Изначально оно использовалось лишь в компьютерной графике, когда один цифровой образ превращался в другой, проходя серию визуальных изменений. Сейчас подобные «волшебные» метаморфозы могут быть получены при помощи довольно скромного компьютера и доступных всем программ. Один телевизионный критик упомянул недавно, что Anthea is slowly morphing into Cilla (Антея медленно трансформируется в Силлу). Имеется в виду тот факт, что одна известная телевизионная личность, получившая признание сравнительно недавно, становится похожей на другую, работающую на телевидении довольно долгое время.I hadn't realised it, but my wife is slowly morphing into her mother. I suppose it's inevitable. — Я не замечал этого раньше, но моя жена постепенно начинает напоминать свою мать. Видимо, это неизбежно.
